These Crab Puppets are so fun to make and play with. They are nice and chunky for little hands and are sure to inspire lots of imaginative play.

This is a great crab activity for preschoolers and elementary grades. It's a fun Summer craft to accompany ocean study units or to go with your favourite beach themed book.

Print the template straight onto coloured printer card and add a craft stick handle. It’s easy to make your crab puppet walk along by gently twisting your wrist and moving your arm from side to side.

Cute and fun craft

I recently purchased this craft for a Preschool class that I teach at our local homeschool Co-op.
Although it required quite a bit of cutting out the shapes and required parental assistance to assemble, the kids enjoyed playing with the crabs. The instructions are straightforward. However we did have to use a glue gun to secure the crabs body (when folded over ) and the popsicle stick stick as well because regular glue was not securing these in place.

After we were done with the craft we played a fun game outside by having the preschoolers move their crabs from the “sand” to the “ocean”.

Other than being a little difficult to put together for this age group, this is a fun, well put together craft and I would recommend.
